Centre d’Interprétation du Delta du Saloum (CIDS), The Voice of a Community

The Saloum Delta, a small region of Senegal, is full of culture and nature. This place contains several species and is home to the Mangrove, a marsh ecosystem bringing together plants of all kinds. It has been part of the UNESCO world heritage since 2011. Here is a magnificent region to discover!

The Interpretation Center of the Saloum Delta is a place of public awareness, information and training on heritage. Its main role is to make people discover the extraordinary culture and nature that abounds in the Saloum Delta and to help the people of Senegal and elsewhere to understand and respect them. Protecting the Saloum Delta is essential in order to avoid threats that affect the survival of endangered species.

CIDS aims to develop tourism in the region, both within the local community and throughout the world. The center regularly organizes activities and workshops to promote the community. You can also discover educational games for school groups.

What will you be able to see and experience at CIDS? Information panels, exhibits, workshops, lectures, films, reading sessions and much more!

A region overflowing with memories and exceptional nature!
